When I use the app , the camera often gets stuck and doesn't do anything.
Can you tell us more about it? Like, what phone you're using and what SJCAM camera model?
I have a SJ7 star v1.15 and a Samsung S4 with the latest Zone app.
I had a similar problem with my SJ7 Star bought on Amazon from FAMLOVE.
After 1 day of test, I have been to need change the battery with a backup battery also bought on Amazon. I do not know if this change is linked to my bug but in the same time, I tried to use SJ CAM Zone on my mobile phone and "Surprise", the Cam has freezed (Grey Screen), impossible to use the Cam, Power Off impossible, only way to power off the cam was to remove the battery.
From this bug , the Cam is "Out of service", I returned the cam to Amazon.
Do you check on SJCAM Official the authenticity of your Cam ?
On my side I do not find the card with the product Code, and the Serial Number on the CAM (Battery compartment) do not permit the check, so my conclsuion is that the CAM wwas not authentic.
The code to check if authentic or not is on the side of the box. It’s a pinkish label with a silver scratch but to reveal the code.
Also can I suggest you ensure both the app and camera have the latest versions installed to see if you still have the same issue.
I check again but on the side of the box there is only the serial number and a QR code.
When a scan the QR code, this is only the link to the Officail site SJCAM to chekc the authenticity, no Code !!
I I have the latest version of firmware on the SJ7 and the SJCam Zone has been installed from the Android Play Store (version 5.2.7).
My phone is the Samsung S5 (SM-G900F) with Android Version 6.0.1.
Underneath the qr code should be 4 sets of 4 digits. Enter them in the 4 boxes at the bottom of this page
Yes thank You I tried to scan the QR code but it generates only a link to https://sjcam.com/security-check/
That why I have doubt about the authenticity of the CAM.
I think the qr code just links to the site.
You still need to enter the serial found under the code into the security check page.
Yes I know that but I had not the Product Code (16 digits) as asked for the check but only the Serial Number on the Cam (10 digits).
Can you take a picture of the label please.
The QR code on the side of the box.
On the official site sjcam they call about a card with the code, do you have this card un your box?
There is no card in the box.
The bit that says scratch and check you need to scratch with a coin or blunt object to reveal the code underneath.
Like a lottery card
I’ve circled the bit you need to scratch off to reveal the number underneath.
@Philing31 hare you scratched off the silver area yet?
Yes I succeeded to check ans it IS an authentic Cam.
Maybe the issue between Zone App and the Sjcam comes from to the compatibilty between my phone S5 ans thé zone App?
Do you have some feedback about a same issue?
I use an S7 with Zone and it works about as well as possible. My wife has an S5. I'll try Zone on her phone.
What version of Android are you using? My S7 has V7.0, and my wife's is V6.0.1.
You can get your Android version number in the setup menu, under About Device (last or next to last item in the setup menu).
I have the same version of your wife the 6.0.1
My issue is that the zone App stops when i try to display pictures or video.
It works to start video and take photo but not for display.
Thanks for your feedback.
I just loaded Zone into my wife's S5. It works as it should. Starting and stopping video doesn't alter the display.
I'm using the release version of V1.21 firmware, available on the SJCam support page
About all I can think of is to reset the camera (happens during a firmware change), uninstall the app, and remove the Star entry in the WiFi site list. Power down the phone, power it up, reinstall Zone, and try to connect to your phone. After that, I'm out of ideas. Sorry...
