I'll stick to changing the card once a day.
Just think how much effort and bother is involved: open the case, breaking a fingernail in the process, disconnect external power, pull the camera, break another fingernail popping the SD, hunt around for the replacement, fiddle around to get it facing the right way, threaten yet another fingernail pushing it in, smudge the lens and port putting the camera back (did mention that happens while pulling the camera, too?), stuff the power cable in after fiddling with the watertight gland, push the back to the case and hold that while setting the clamp, pinch a fingertip closing the latch, clean the exterior port... whew! £300 to defer this to at least every other day, and probably longer, and the broken nails have time to grow back as the fingertip heals.
What price pain averted? LOL
You forgot to mention that you only have to catapult the card across the room when removing it rather than the multiple times with smaller cards - that way you only have to replace one lost card a week.
Ah... "toaster pop-up syndrome".
In truth, I have been surprised, on occasion, to the SD launch itself. Oops.
U1 = slower write speeds if I understand the ratings correctly.....
Some cameras may not operate with U1...I know my GoPro doesn't take them.
But wait! There's more! Literally.
