I recently used SJCAM with housing on my recent trip and all video and photos came out with circular blur in middle. See following images. Most probably this spot which is visible in center after putting in housing, causing blur issue. Is lens touching the housing body or some other issue?
Ok.. I saw in other thread people facing same issue. It's lens touching the housing. So in long run it will hurt the lens too. I fixed it by putting two pieces of double sided tape. Don't remove top side of tape otherwise it will glued to case. Problem solved. Though my vacation pics and video are ruined As suggested in thread. extra padding should be at corners not around lens as in the picture. It will allow to disperse the heat effectively.
I notice that this distortion occurs when using the new style SJ7 case - I haven't had this problem with the original waterproof case
I don't use the original case, but I do use the motorcycle case, which has the same lens port. I don't see anything like the artifact shown. NTL if backing camera up a touch cures the problem there it is. I do strongly recommend putting the spacers at the corners of the camera. The front area, near the existing spacers gets very hot. The tape and case may have problems, but, more importantly, the camera won't be able to radiate the heat as effectively.
I use the case sold by SJCam. It's the dive case, with the new lens port, and a fitting on the side for an external power cable (supplied - ends in standard USB plug). The case is water-resistant or rain safe. I wouldn't swim, snorkel, or dive with it, though.
Anoop, I had the same problem, but I managed to sort it out. The following thread might help: https://sjcam.com/community/threads/a-smudge-in-the-middle.2194/page-2
