I made a video demonstrating the problem I'm having with my SJ7, the auto focus simply does not work, in the video I compared the focus of my camera and my cell phone, my phone that costs 3 times less is 5 times better than the SJ7, I'm disappointed in SJ7!

    1080p 30fps
    Super Fine
    Strong
    Multi
    v1.20

The SJ7 Star has a fixed focus lens not an auto focus lens. There is a minimum focus distance so sticking your hand up close of course it's going to be out of focus.

The cameras are not designed to do close up or macro work - the are meant for wide angle and action shots. If you get that close to a tree when skiing the last thing you're going to worry about is if the footage on your head cam is in focus.

P.S. your earlier post threatened to return it and buy a Gopro - do it. Gopros are the same fixed focus lenses as are all action cameras.

I understood, on this subject I accept the logic, until it makes sense, but in relation to my previous post, the resolution of the camera did not please me, I will post some comparatives.

    There's no zoom on the SJ7 - what's "Image 4 - SJ7 Star - Photo with Zoom 500x" about?

Overall, I see nothing in the way of resolution problems. There is some chromatic aberration - the purple edge on the truck, for example. But, overall, I see nothing to get worried about.

Here's a frame from my SJ7, shooting 1080@60 fps - looks OK to me:

The 500x zoom I am referring to is the zoom given with an image editing program, to compare the pixels between the 2 devices!

One last time, I see nothing, except that sample of chromatic aberration, in the SJ7 images to complain about. Comparing that to the S7 (I happen to own one) is like comparing apples and pineapples.

If you don't like the camera, don't keep it.

From here out you're on your own.

If you want to use this camera for shooting close or even macro shots, then you should break the lens loose from the glue. After that the focus of the lens will be manually adjustable. But remember, that by doing that, yyou may loose your warranty.
