Hi, today I unboxing new camera and I want connect it to my smartphone (Xiaomi Mi A1) by WiFi 5 GHz. When I search network to connect - network with 5 GHz not showed. Smartphone have compatibility with WiFi 5 GHz. I downgraded camera's firmware to 1.2.0 then I check it again - not solved problem, update to 1.2.4 - the same problem not solved.
I'm checked it on my brother's ASUS Zenfone 3 - the same problem but when he turn on hotspot 5 GHz in his phone I have seen him network. I tested connection SJ8 in his smartfone - the same problem as with my phone.
Hi, I have exactly the same problem with wifi 5G and written the sjcam division of my country and they tell me to return the camera to seller, but I have also written to sjcam.com central and they have replied that they will fix it in an upcoming firmware. Where is the problem?, hardware or firmware?, I don't known and I think they do not either.
Without closer examination of the problem it is impossible to determine if the fault is caused by the FW or by the HW. Because both variants are possible. If they promised a new FW, then try if that fixes the issue. If not, send your camera to the seller.
Second problem - 4K Ultra 30 FPS - today I filmed firefighters exercise with that option and when I watching video on laptop - it hasn't gyro stabilization. In option I can set On/Off with that resolution.
KamiLeszek, they sent me this message and they say only that in the next update: "Thank you for contacting SJCAM support. We have reported the system bug to our software department and will urge them to fix it in next firmware upgrade. Really appreciate your attention and patience. Best Regards"
Today: "Newest firmware version of SJ8 Pro is still being developed and tested by our software department but exact time of release is not given " still waiting...
Just adding to this. My SJ8 Pro arrived yesterday and claims to be running firmware 1.2.5 The 5GHz is WiFi is invisible to my Samsung S7 Edge although I can connect at 5GHz using my IPad Mini 2. Definitely suggests a firmware issue.

I have same issue only on 1.30 firmware. I can turn it on but my Huawei P10 and P20 lite cannot see the 5GHz network I can see my routher's 5Ghz network but I cannot see from the camera. 2.4 Ghz works perfect.
