    Hi guys!
    Here's the full list of resolutions in the SJ7 Star, along with the availability of menu features that correspond to each one, particularly: FOV, Slow Motion, Auto Low Light, and Gyro Sensor, since these are the only options that vary as you change resolutions.

    The firmware dev-team is still adding more and more features to it, so check back every now and then, I will update this image as we receive new progress. NOTE: Firmware shown here is Ver1.18 as of this writing.

    Yes, correct... Auto Low Light can be supported on all menus. Also, there is an EIS2.0 coming out for the SJ7 soon as well :)

    right now only for [email protected] and 60fps. Ambarella may or may not include support for higher resolutions.

    4k resolution has FOV options narrow to wide. Would narrow have the same resolution with wide? Or narrow means picture is being cut?

    Strictly as a guess, 4K set to a narrow FOV will remain 4K.

    The SJ7 lens is fixed - that is there are no moving parts. The change is digital.

    From the few 4k none wide videos I've done it is still 4k (3840 × 2160) but a cropped section of the sensor has been interpolated and digitally zoomed.

    Think of it from a manufacturer's point of view - which costs less to build, precision mechanical parts or easy to change programming. The less the product costs, the better the chance for a good profit (which isn't a bad thing - few businesses exist to give away their products).

    Not only are fixed focus M12 lenses cheaper but the original concept of the action camera means you want to be able to have a fixed focus lens with a wide depth of field to get all the action in as you won't be spending time refocusing on the subject all the time.

    Once you add an optical zoom you add the need to refocus, track focus, autofocus etc. which reduced the capability of the camera to be used the way it was designed, add complexity and also increases price.
