Gyro with 720p 30/60 This is needed badly Why? I understand that Gyro eats battery and processing power and may be not ruled out in higher resolution. But why it is stripped out from lower resolution? Let say, you go to vacation for a week and using gyro at 1080p really takes lots of space. 720p with 60FPS gives decent enough in less memory. It would be great to add this in next update. Yes, it's file system limit. The file system is FAT32, it's widely used in camera devices. Max limit of FAT32 is 2^32 bytes = 4294967296 ~ 4GB. I don't see any jerk on merging two videos.
I agree that EIS (gyro) should be present in every resolution where it's possible. AFAIK 4K is the really hard part. As far as 1080 taking up lots of space, a 128 Gb SD will hold about 11 hours of video. Unload the contents onto a laptop overnight, and keep on shooting the next day.
Or purchase a second card. They were on offer on amazon and other retailers over the Christmas period, not checked pricing since.
Of course. If one card dies on a vacation in the middle of South Lower Outer Nowhere, having a second (or third) 128 Gb SD will be quite comforting.
If you really need to save space on the card you can always reduce to quality which will lower the bit rate.
Wishlist item: somehow indicate the screen is blank only because it timed out, not that the camera has shut down.
Sigh... I don't think this is an AMOLED screen. That means a screen protector or other indication would turn the screen on, the very thing to be avoided. I dunno - maybe blink the LED's?
FEATURE REQUEST: EMERGENCY SAVE VIDEO IN DVR MODE Description/Reason: Preventing from overwrite a video (last 2 minutes?) by loop recording, when e.g. you push settings button while DVR is active. Why do people need the DVR mode without possibility to save record of accident on road?
pleaaaaassee give me a LOOP RECORD OF 10 MINUTES like the older models (sj4000) i really hate to sort out all this files
Expanding on buldozer's "wish", adding setting shutter speed and aperture setting will make controlling the photo modes much easier.
Just reminding everyone of the way we've been asked to format the requests. Remember to like any requests you agree with.
Keep them coming guys! Yes, what @Jason said. Those who want their wishes to be seen by the technical team must format their request exactly like this (including color): FEATURE REQUEST: (A very short description of the suggestion, set it in Bold, and in ALLCAPS. Example: VIDEO START/END BEEP) Description/Reason: (Make it as short yet as clear as possible. Example: I want to be able to tell if the recording is starting or stopping just by the beep alone) Then do this for each feature you want to see added. You may add comments below this format if you have to, without color, like perhaps tell us situations where they would be most useful. But please, keep it short. Other comments are either hard to read and get to the actual point, so if they are not formatted this way, only those with a clear idea will be read. If your past request isn't formatted yet, please do so, and they'll get included into the report. If they are already formatted before Feb 1 2018, no need to change anything. Keep them coming guys!
FEATURE REQUEST: IMAGE ROTATION (TRUE ROTATION OF IMAGE NOT JUST TIME STAMP) FOR ALL RESOLUTIONS Description/Reason: People would like to be able to mount their camera upside down for various action shots.
FEATURE REQUEST: plug and unplug external power without shut down Description/Reason: this is very, very inportant feature for everyone who want to make a records for more than hour long.
