SJ6 LEGEND and SJ6 LEGEND Air Battery Test We did a quick battery test on both the Legend and the Air, and we are highly pleased. But before we show you the setup and the results let’s see first the major differences between these two action cameras: The obvious part: the front screen is missing in the Legend Air. And then there's the processor: The Legend uses a Novatek 96660 chipset while the Legend Air uses the first ever SJCAM A9s chipset. The Legend has a 16MegaPixel Panasonic sensor, while the Air has 14Megapixel sensor Also, the Legend Air is targetted for the European marke and will not be available to the rest of the world. Or at least, for now. Okay, on with the test. To be fair with both cameras, we set the Legend's front LCD off (the option is available in the latest firmware), and set the resolution to something that plenty of SJCAM owners use on a regular basis: 720p 30fps. Both cameras share the same 3.8Volt 1000mAh Lithium battery model specific to the SJ6 series. Surprise, surprise! The SJ6 Legend kept going past the 2 hour mark, as did the Legend Air. SJ6 Legend: 126 minutes (2 hrs, 6 minutes) SJ6 Legend Air: 130 minutes (2 hrs, 10 minutes) It would be safe to say that they both action cameras can actually run for 130 minutes in this setup, the Novatek-chipset test-subject had an older battery with several charge cycles already in, while the one with the SJCAM A9s was new. So there you have it! Till the next test... Got any questions? Want us to test more camera models' batteries? Let us know in the comments below what else you want to see tested here.
