Since there's a LOT of memory card brands and models out there, there is now a need to list down those that work with SJCAM. We will keep building this list here, and we will have a thread specifically for non-compatible cards. 16GB or 32GB original, well-known brands with high quality, high input/output writing speeds, and class 10 at least. SDHC versions are recommended. The following micro SD memory cards have been tested and performed well with all of the SJCAM devices: Silicon Power Micro SDXC 64GB Class 10 (only with selected models) Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB (only with selected models) Samsung EVO C10 32GB Sandisk Extreme C10 32GB Lexar EVO C10 32GB Transcend Premium 300 C10 32GB Sandisk C4 32GB Sony C10 32GB Sandisk C6 16GB Kingston 16GB Transcend C10 16GB *This list is by no means complete Note that although there are those cards that may seem to be okay when you look at the package, it is now common to see cards that have fake capacities and fake speeds. To check your card if it has what it says it does on the packaging, download the free software called H2Testw, there are plenty of download places for it and we will not put one here. So find one and install it. Use it to test if there is a discrepancy in the card capacity or speed. It can be used to test a lot of other things like your USB drives, HDD's etc. Does the read/write speed really matter? Quick answer is Yes. You'll know you have a card speed problem when you have your videos only recorded in small sections and never get past 1 minute. Your camera will also have overheating issues. It's trying to write data but the card could not keep up. It's just not fast enough. Specially with higher resolution videos. If you have an experience about a specific card that works for your camera, or does not work, let us know here. Please do not forget to mention your SJCAM model. -TF3/14/2017
I have tried an original Kingston 32GB microSDHC Class 10 on my SJ7 Star and it can keep up with the camera writing 4K video. Weird, in a very good way! Troy
SJ6 Legend using Samsung 64GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC EVO Select Memory Card 4k @24fps looks good to me I left it plugged into power and ran a test to see that it would fill up the full 64GB, it did, lots of 4.3GB files faithfully showing my clock until all the space was used
Hi @Mafk, What SJCAM model are you planning to use it for? On the SJ6 Legend and the SJ7 Star, you can find the suggested cards HERE. They work with ALL models of SJCAMs as they have writespeeds that can handle 4k. Reposting the photo found on that link here so other people don't need to jump. -TF
I am using in sj6 legend a samsung evo plus 64gb (the new 2017 model with "plus" write on it not "+") and i didn't have any problem. Speed test read-write from laptop input card reader the card has read 85mb/s and write 65mb/s. With the camera in usb 3 input i have transfer rate read 15-17mb/s. I think it's very slow and useless for a camera that it may transfer at least 10-20gb files every time.
I have tried an original Verbatim Pro+ 32GB but it was a disaster. The camera always crashed every time I started recording, it wasn't even able to take some photos. So I bought a suggested SanDisk and everything fixed up. Don't try this microSD I've talked about. My camera: SJ7 Star
Good day, I have a SJ6 Legend, when i tested it it went fine and said needs memory card to record video or take pictures. So I bought a samsung 128 evo+ memory card and then when i inserted it, i can now take pictures ans record video. And then when i turn off my camera, when i turn it back on all the pictures and videos was deleted on its own. What seems to be the problem? Is there any settings for this or my memory card is the problem? Please help me. Thank you
