    Hi,

I have an original speare battery. When I change it (very quickly) date/time will reset everytime.
All my other settings leaves as it was. Only the date/time affected.

Date time reset after Battery change, Problem still NOT FIXED in latest firmware update SJCAM_M20_1.3.1.
Because of the date reset, files end up out of order.
Since the firmware upgrade 1.30, charging indicator on the camera screen (charging mode) shows a full battery even when the battery is flat, (indicator worked fine before the upgrade) not fixed in 1.3.1
    Please FIX ASAP.

    Hi @Serhan Altug , @FGWINS

I have found an answer to your problem in the General FAQ section.

Why is the date on my camera reset when I take out the battery?

If your camera is an M20 or SJ5000 Series or SJ6; this issue may be due because the small battery on the motherboard has run out of battery, you can try to replace it. Other cause is because the main battery has been extracted for more than 30 seconds.
In SJ4000 or M10 Series there isn't a small battery in the motherboard so if the main battery is taken out for more than 10 seconds the date will reset.

    Regards - McVik

Hi, Not the Answer, M20 purchased June 1st 2017, change the battery in 5 seconds or 5 mins, Only date & time resets, all other settings not changed, if it's an internal battery on the motherboard problem, ALL settings would reset & that's not the case.

    Regards FGWINS

Not necessarily. I'm not familiar with the M20 hardware but if this device has some kind of the flash memory (like e.g. SD memory card) for storing user settings, then the internal battery would not be necessary for holding the data in the memory. But for sure it is necessary for keeping internal clock alive. ;-)

Anyway - basing on that answer we can assume that properly working M20 device should keep internal clock working for at least 30 secs without main battery or external power connected. If it does not it means that the device is defective.

This is correct. The motherboard does not have a battery. All other settings are save except for time.

once you connect to your SJCAM zone app, time and date should update though....

I have two SJCAM M20 cams. Both have the same problem. Namely, at least once a week, they reset all the settings (except date). (Date is only occasionally reset if I don't change the battery quick enough.) But all settings go back to default, so I have to reset frame rate, date stamp, no loop recording etc. It looks like I am not the only one with this problem. Is there a fix?
    :-(

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there no one from SJCAM who can help on this?
