Hi, I have a M20 and a SJ6Legend. Both are housed in waterproof housings when i sail. The M20 records sound well, but the SJ6 sound is barely audible when played back on my computer? The only setting i can find is sound ON or OFF. Is there a volume control i am missing on the SJ6?
    thanks J

    NOW RESOLVED.

To answer anyone else with the same query, there are 3 levels in the menu, see (
VOLUME › Adjusts how sensitive your camera's microphone becomes. Settings for how
soft or how loud sound is recorded with your video.) However, in the original posters problem IMO the sound will be low with the camera in it's housing.

I encountered similar issues with sound during video recording.
While using the waterproof casing & without changing any settings, some video footage has good sound recordings while some sound muted.
I am using FW ver 1.4.5.

    Hi Heng

    Hi Heng
Did you try it with the touch screen back on the waterproof housing, this has thinner material & may transmit sound better? If you have the touch screen back on the waterproof housing, maybe you can tell me the best way to fit it, do you have to remove the hinge pin?
Just another couple of thoughts, do you record in MP4 or MOV, have you tried the sound using the underwater setting?

    Hi Eric,

I am using the water proof casing with touch screen, but the videos are not taken using underwater mode. Have not tried that. I record all my Videos in MP4.
For the touch screen casing, don’t have to remove the hinge pin, just use force to plug off will do.
