The issue about bad quality at 120fps is an old friend of mine with SJ5000x elite. The system is not fast enough to capture those quantity of frames, so the bitrate given is not enough. I don't know the bitrate on SJ7 but on my SJ5000x original bitrate was 30MBps at 120fps, I hacked it to the maximum allowed --> 53,4Mbps and then was better but never perfect. Another thing to keep in mind is that due those high frame rate the cam needs lots of light, the more light the better image.
Good job, but even in sunlight the frames are bad and pixelated (with a lot of artifacts due to excessive unsharp mask!!!!!!!!!!!!). The good thing is to record at 120 fps then slow down the video with Adobe Premiere or similar, without using the slow motion function built in the camera.
Indeed there’s only so long we can go with the same issues reported each update. @Troy is there a method to notify us on what is being looked at before the update is released? Understandably not every item on the wish list can be rolled out at once but it would be nice to know what they are trying to fix.
Although I agree with you on that, what with all the requests they are deluged with, they prioritize what is critical and becomes "Work-In-Progress" if the solution to an issue needs more time to be polished. The ones that passes the "publishable" criteria get included in the release firmware and changelog. It's this that makes it seem that the company is ignoring some of those requests that are pressing, but I guess it's understandable that they don't "update" us with what's currently on that list. The Beta group has some access, but the group is limited to those open and willing to make their camera units become test equipment outside the walls of the technical team's lab, but they get their hands first on what goes (and what doesn't) into the firmware way before the actual release.
Strange thing corallino, to me with the 1.21 this does not happen, it being understood that there would be some improvements to be made to the software and the video output.
From the reviews of this forum I have the doubt that the Sjcam has produced several series of rooms sj7 star
Hello. In the firmware 1.21 the touch does not work very well, you have to press several times or it falsely works. In firmware 1.18 the touch worked perfectly.
This is a little surprising as, from 1.17beta forward, the touchscreen overall response is much better. A) the touchscreen won't work well, if at all, pushing against the flexible window in the cases. B) a light touch held briefly (not just a quick feather-light touch) should give good results.
Hello, I do not know if I should post this here or into the wish list post. I've seen that there are some other cameras that allow fixing the shutter speed to a certain value. For people who want to double the shutter speed according to the fps, this feature is really interesting. Following this, I also would like that instead of fixing the ISO to a value, that the user can set a maximum value, i.e. 400. Thanks a lot
I understand what you're saying but the change in responsiveness is what happened with the development. If you're touching the screen directly and having problems, something isn't right. I'm surprised that older FWIW rev.s work better. Just as a test, try V1.15, which pre-dates the screen changes. How does the screen respond?
all that before 1.18 is worse I just checked the speed of the sensor at 1.18 and 1.21. Same ... Although it seemed that there is faster ...
My camera doesn't have a problem, yours does. All I can come up with is the screen itself may be wonky or (meant kindly) you're impatient with the screen. Sorry.
