Does Sj6 work with other microphones?

    I just bought a 3.5mm to mini-usb adapter, hoping that I could use my shotgun mic to record audio, but all I'm getting is audio from the internal mic. Does the SJ6 only work with SJCAM mics? Has anyone had success using an adapter?

    I was told by sjcam support that, in theory it should work with any microphone, provided the right USB, but they don't promise it will work with any microphone

    Have you had any luck? Because I want to buy a microphone
