Has anyone found a place to buy batteries for SJ 7 in USA? I do not want to order from China.
I contacted Wasabi, and after-market vendor. They thought the SJ7 battery was the same as preceding batteries. I'm still waiting to see how they'll handle the SJ7.
OTOH, ordering from China isn't the worst thing in the world. Delivery isn't overnight, but it's still not bad.
Hi.. You can order the batteries from this website in Canada.. They do ship to the US... https://sjcamcanada.com/?s=Sjcam+sj7+star+
Er, the link seems to be dead.
I think so.... You may have to try again later.... IT was on yesterday maybe they are doing some maintenance.... This is the place where I got my batteries.
The link is awake as of 0300 UT 17 Jun. (or 11PM EDT).
So did you order from them... They are very legit.... Good luck
I got a set (two batteries, a charger, and USB cable) from Amazon. It was listed as the last one available. Maybe yes, maybe no. Anyway, I got mine.
Good for you.
Very much so. [/wink & laugh]
I just looked for the battery kit on Amazon. There's nothing but the Wasabi battery kits. Strictly by comparing my "known good" battery kit, and the Wasabi pictures... not gonna work. This is the same issue that keeps SJ6 batteries from working with SJ7's. I assume SJCam changed the batteries for a good reason, but I don't know what - aside from a case of marketing brilliance overwhelming engineering common sense. [/ <--- sarcasm present here]
FWIW I ordered some batts labeled "SJ6000/sj5000/sj4000" on Amazon and had to return them. They do not have the same contact pads.
I asked Wasabi about that, and never got a reply. Well, now we know...
Sorry you found out the hard way.
It's fine, amazon refunded me so I was only out a few minutes of time. Hey, did you ever post video/pictures of your ride in the Alps online? I'd dig seeing that, you'll probably like where I take my SJ6 next month We are kindred spirits.
I've never attached a camera to my helmet, looking forward to it. Guess it is pretty straight forward, stick, mount, record.
