In the PAl modus, it is impossible to make a good video with 1080 P / 50 fr. The lower part of the video is vibrating. I can't solve this problem in the menu. Has someone a solution for this ? Or do we have to wait for new firmware for this SJ5000X ? Strange is this, in the NTSC modus with 1080 P / 60 fr there is NO problem .....
This is an old and known problem. Can't understand why SJCAM hasn't fixed it yet. I recommend to use NTSC mode, until the problem is fixed.
In my country PAL is the standard. Using NTSC gives a bad result in 1080P 60 frames modus. Lines from below to the upper part of the screen. So, can't use the NTSC modus ....
I live in a PAL country and always use 30/60fps without problem. SJCam PAL modes are faulty and no hope to solve it and I think there will be no more updates anymore. The only problem you can find is in artificial lighting with certain lights flickering due your 60Hz vs 50Hz of your country. The rest no problem you can play in any TV set or PC.
Whilst I’ve had no issue using the pal setting 1080p 50fps I also don’t have an issue using the NTSC setting here in UK. What version firmware are you using?
No matter the version, they added PAL mode with 25/50fps on latest firmwares and never worked as it should. It records an stuttered video. NTSC modes are "normal" and smooth (non stuttered). Try to make a pano with 30fps and 25fps and compare. With my DSLR and another action cam I own I can record 25/50fps or 30/60fps with no problems.
I’ll try again tomorrow but the test footage I did a while back had no issues. The previous videos were shot with 1080 60fps which were perfect. I changed to 50fps but only did a shirt test recording in the house. It seemed fine.
My SJ5k only records in 30fps mode (or is it 29.97?). This is a pain as I'm in England, and my Edius 6.5 NLE edit program makes a hash of the change to 25 fps, making the footage look stuttery. But Premiere Elements 15 is fine, and edits the SJ footage perfectly.
