Issue 3 was not issue at all:

Enabling gyro or distortion correction narrows FOV. Disable both for wider FOV.

Correct, both settings crop the image to fix the issues, therefore you loose Some FOV.

Does your footage has distinct straight lines in the frames? It seems, that the tearing happens when the camera tries to correct certain kind of distortions of straight lines.

There's an issue with the app where it won't download 4K footage to the iPhone correctly so I'm unable to upload my cycle to work this morning. However I've managed to record a short clip in 4K and upload it to YouTube

No tearing that I can see

Damian, most of your video has too fast movement, hence is too soft (because of the motion blur) to find any possible tears. But the only slower part has panning in the other direction than in SiB77's videos (vertical, instead of horisontal, combined with moving forward). Don't know if that's the reason, but it is wise to consider those things. If you shake the camera violently, then you effectively disable the gyro.

Nope, still not seeing any tearing on my commute to work this morning using my bike. Only difference between videos is @SiB77 bike is electric and mine isn't, and the time and location the video was shot.

I'll upload it when I'm home.

Here's some footage recorded from this mornings cycle to work. All settings the same as @SiB77 had in their footage.

Can't see any evidence of tearing but I am watching it on my phone.

No tearing there. I was also doing some updown movement as camera was on my helmet not fixed to bike frame. Hopefully i just got faulty camera (or gyro).

I did some up down movement in the footage shot in my office. Might have been a little too fast though

SiB77, you may try to reset your camera settings to factory defaults (from a command in settings menu), and then try again. Sometimes this helps to resolve mysterious problems.

    SJ8 PRO 1.2.4

    PHOTO BUG.....

This problem occurs in dimly lit scenes.

Normal when the light is sufficient.
